We walked this battlefield last winter. What very few maps show is just how steep the drop is down towards the Cock Beck on the Lancastrian's right flank. It is nearly perpendicular, and once they started to break in that direction following the advent of Norfolk's fresh force on their left, there'd have been no stopping them and no chance of avoiding the rout or slaughter.
